Whether you’re shipping a full truckload or a partial load, CDS works with you to find the most efficient, cost effective way to get it there.  As your transportation broker serving you, our customer, we have the knowledge and expertise to properly select from the hundreds of carriers available.  We use exclusively carriers that are reliable, properly insured and who have proper authority to haul your freight.  By allowing us to handle your shipping requirements, you save time, money and the hassle of finding the best carrier for the job. 

·        LTL (less than truckload).  Over 50% of our business is derived from servicing LTL shipments.  Whether you have 500 pounds or several thousand pounds, CDS is the company to call for hands on service along with competitive pricing. 

·        Pooled or Consolidated Shipments.  If you have several partial loads going to different destinations at the same time, take advantage of our pooled shipment option. This allows you to obtain a price based on the pooled weight of all your shipments, rather than having each shipment rated separately as common carriers generally do, and usually amounts to substantial cost savings.  CDS will then formulate an optimum delivery sequence by consolidating your freight with other shipments into full truckloads bound for the same destination, or by pooling your shipments on one truck headed in a general line to all your delivery points.  Either way, it means your shipments are not handled again until they arrive, which minimizes damage and loss claims and expedites transit times. 

·         Full Truckloads.  Through the close contact we keep with our extensive network of carriers, we can provide excellent van availability to meet your requirements.  We have single or team drivers, as well as 48 or 53 foot trailers available.  And as always, you’ll receive our competitive pricing and dependable nationwide service.

We use only a select group of contract carriers who meet our strict requirements.  They must be fully insured and properly licensed by the Federal Highway Administration, and they must provide the availability we require.

Our thorough knowledge of carriers, their abilities and lane preferences, enables us to match your shipment with the best carrier for the job, so we can consistently provide you with competitive rates and the most efficient delivery schedules. 

Accurate Quotes and Billings.

When we give you a quote, you can be sure it is the most competitive and up-to-date price available.  And we stand by our quotes.  You won’t see any surprises when you are billed, because each bill is personally reviewed and checked by CDS against the original quote. 

Daily Shipment Tracking.

We always know the current status of your shipment.  If you ever have a question or concern, it just takes a call to our Tracing Coordinator to ease your mind. 

Contingent Cargo Insurance.

In addition to maintaining current insurance records on all the carriers we use, CDS gives you the added protection of contingent cargo insurance, which provides back up coverage to the carrier’s cargo insurance up to $250,000 per load. 

Claims Handling.

If you ever do have to file a claim for lost or damaged cargo, we’ll be right there with you every step of the way to make sure you are taken care of without delay.

A Brief History 

The Motor Carrier Act of 1980 deregulated shipping, causing an influx of interstate carriers and an increase in freight rate discounting.  This not only made the trucking industry suddenly very competitive, it also made shipping much more confusing. 

In an effort to help shippers take advantage of the deregulated environment without having to deal with the confusion, Complete Distribution Services, Inc. was formed.  Since the very beginning, our commitment to first class customer service, combined with the high standards of quality that we put forth, has allowed us to flourish, even in the face of intense competition.
